I have been a Realtor® for 7 years and a mortgage banker for the last 8 years. I purchased my first home by myself (without a husband) and thought I would be the best buyer, but I got nervous. My wife and I decided to look for a house about 6 months before we were ready to move, knowing the process to find a house that was perfect would take that long. After a long conversation on the phone discussing likes, dislikes, preferences and problems we have had in the past, Susan was off and running.
The next day, looking in our email inbox, Susan had organized about 10 houses that met our criteria. She assisted setting up appointments that weekend with a few that we were interested in. About the fifth house that we walked into was the one that we wanted. The house had been on the market for about 6 months and we were concerned.
Susan set us at ease and also said we needed to move quickly. This was not a "pushy" real estate speaking; this was an "experienced" real estate agent recommending what was in our best interest. She knew this house at this recently reduced price was not going to last.
This is when Susan really went to work. That Saturday she put us in touch with a Mortgage Broker to get pre-approved so that we could place an offer. While we did that, Susan called the Realtor® selling the house to let him know that someone was going to be placing an offer. Susan did not give up on voice mail. She called multiple times until she was able to get hold of him. It was a good thing because we found out there was a competing offer.
Susan then began to consult with us on what to do, how to make an offer that would stand out. She talked with the Mortgage Broker to insure we were approved first thing Monday, so that we had a pre-approval to place an offer as soon as possible. All of Susan's reommendations were right on. We were able to get exactly what we wanted with the house and the sellers liked our offer the best.
The next stage of the process is where my wife and I had no experience and Susan really helped us. She helped us select a Home Inspection specialist and once that was completed helped us negotiate what we needed to get done before we moved in.
The whole process was fantastic. Susan was with us every step of the way. Always available by phone for questions, calling us to keep updated on the process. Even to this day, after the sale, she has provided us with guidance. I do not think we would gotten this house if it wasn't for Susan. This is our DREAM house and we owe it all to Susan. Going back through the process, it was Susan walking us through every step making sure we made the right decision and helping us complete the purchase.
